PORTISHEAD BAND / ALBUM DUMMY, VINYL COVER 2013
A handcrafted re-creation of the vinyl cover album 'Dummy" (1994) made by Portishead band.
The aims of the project is to communicate the content of the music album Dummy. To succeed I had the music playing and so I experimented with ink, stencil typography, spray and paint with my hands to compose the existing album that will illuminate its uniqueness through evocative aesthetics. For the revitalised album we needed to produce campaign posters and various objects to promote our new album.
John Cages methodologies in composing and painting inspired me to approach the project in an experimental way extending the boundaries of my expression to communicate the albums content to its full extend. Inspiration was taken also from brutal architecture during WW2 as the music gives you the feeling of isolation.
